My friendship with Kelly began as opponents on the basketball court, with Kelly being the star player at Mohawk and myself playing for McMaster. Through the ensuing years, we began a friendship that spanned over 30 years that saw us as teammates, coaching colleagues, or cheering on the sidelines at some game, but most importantly we became family, in fact, Kelly and Doug were our MC’s at our wedding. From the moment we met, we embraced each other and knew what a special bond we had, and that bond continues on! Kelly and her family remain a huge part of my life and watching both Mitchell and Ally grow into the fine young people they are brings so much joy!  Many memories we shared as a family and it is these memories and how Kelly’s huge personality impacted so many people that brings me so much pleasure to be a part of her foundation to honour her spirit.
 
As an Alum of both McMaster and Mohawk, I have been a nurse for 25 years that has given me the gift of caring for many people in our Hamilton hospitals, predominantly at the Juravinski Cancer Center and McMaster Children’s Hospital. It truly is the best career and I am so thankful for every opportunity given to me over the years. Kelly and I both shared the belief in giving back and always helping in any way we can.
 
I am greatly honoured to join the Board of Directors to honour our dear Kelly and continue her legacy and spirit that still guides us in our daily life.
